Dotting Tools and More

I recently bought myself some dotting tools and they make nail art SO MUCH EASIER. They are also inexpensive. I bought mine on eBay, but some people have said that you can purchase them from a beauty supply store if there is one in your area. Note that if you choose to purchase from eBay, a lot of the prices claim to be from $0.01 to $1.00. This is because they are shipped from China and will take 10-14 days to arrive if you live in the United States. Because of this, I filtered my search results to show me dotting tools that are sold by the closest person around my area. The price was around $4.00, but it had free shipping and arrived in the mail within a day. So it is about preference. Also, make sure you buy from a reputable seller (if you buy online).

After discovering dotting tools, I found out that there are a lot of items you need in order to create cute designs. For example, I did not know that you need a base coat. I thought it was just to help the lacquer stick to the nail better, but also to protect your natural nails from stains. Base coats are about the same price of a polish. Top coats are used to protect your design from chipping and use of your nails. Some companies offer a formula that provides a base and top coat in one.

I am also learning to take care of my cuticles. From what I have read, I am going to need cuticle cream (moisturize?) and a good cuticle pusher.

I usually buy Sally Hansen polishes because they are affordable, but I would really like to buy O.P.I. polishes. They do not sell them at my local Walmart :-/. They only sell the Nicole by OPI line, and the selection is limited. I do not know where my closest salon is to purchase them.

My dotting tools!
