Blue to Purple Gradient

I know my cuticles are messy but that's only because it took so long to clean up the mess around my fingers created by using a cosmetic sponge to stamp the colors onto my nails. This is my first gradient. It was a lot of work. First, I painted each nail white and let it get a bit tacky before applying the blue and purple onto the sponge and gently stamping them onto my nails. I applied China Glaze's Fairy Dust on top, then sealed with INM's Out the Door top coat.

I was using Revlon's top coat for awhile but it just was not drying quickly enough, even after 20 to 30 minutes, so I decided to try Out the Door, which I purchased at Sally's for around six dollars. It's so fast! It dries in about five minutes! I know a lot of people use Seche Vite, but after hearing mixed reviews such as it becoming too goopy after awhile, shrinking, and that it is not 3-free, I chose to use Out the Door. Out the Door has it's disadvantages too, such as it drying not nearly as glossy as any other top coat I have used. But I will be repurchasing it once it runs out.

The colors I used are Pure Ice's Castle of Dreams and Fairy Godmother and China Glaze's Fairy Dust.

What is your method for cleaning around your cuticles?
